never what we call FASHION been more accessible to all and, while further away. I mean: internet allows anyone (with access to it, of course), real-time learning about each gateway calls "Fashion Week " New York, London, Milan and Paris fashion magazines are "complete with its terrible flaws, affordable mall kiosks. Yet, those items that we see on the international catwalks and in magazines fat in English or French, are still prohibitively expensive for wealthy citizens who was not first world. The only one that does not discriminate on the bombardment of information, " and you see this season, this body should be and the clothes and the shoes and the hair and these nails ... . " And in Guatemala (where most often become a status symbol), recent trends come to us from the hand of foreign channels and some other local, a tiered pricing according to the consumer. It is recognized that because of that, at least in terms of clothing is concerned, the socioeconomic status of people seems more blurred than before. It would be naive, then, to deny the risks of fashion as a tool voracious consumerism, as promoting uniformity. That said, we need clothes and no way ... Then why not use it as an instrument of individualism, self-expression? Indeed, I intend that this new space will inspire those love of clothes as art, who put his personality to the imposition of a trend and give it its own flavor. This column will be devoted to those which need not be such a showcase, taking advantage of actually dressing to undress, to prove who they are. And for those who want to cheer, tell you all about places where to find original pieces on Guatemalan style, on people who are dedicated to fashion and always in the end, share some ideas to help us go through finding out what we get. And fashion is that interests me is not used to deny, hide or conceal, but to give color and texture to it who makes each unique.

DRESSING NUDE JAMES BOND AT THE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 2011

share a great video of two minutes made especially for this International Women's Day just past. In it, Daniel Craig, in his role as 007, is forced to think of M (played by Judy Dench) on gender equity issues. The video was directed by artist Sam Taylor-Wood, written by Jane Goldman. Then transcribe the dialogue of M:

" We’re equals, aren’t we, 007? Yet it is 2011 and a man is still likely to earn more money than a woman, even one doing the same job. You have a far better chance of entering political office, or becoming a company director. As a man, you are less likely to be judged for promiscuous behavior, which is just as well, frankly. And hardly any chance of falling victim to sexual assault. And unlike the 30,000 women in the UK who lose their jobs annually due to pregnancy, there will be virtually no risk to your career if you chose to become a parent. Or, became one accidentally. For someone with such a fondness for women, I wonder if you have ever considered what it might be like to be one.

The world has changed. But the numbers remain stacked against us. Women are responsible for 2/3 of the work done worldwide, yet earn only 10% of the total income, and own 1% of the property. It’s not just about money and power. Every year, 70 million girls are deprived of even a basic education. And a staggering 60 million are sexually assaulted on their way to school. We’re afraid to walk the streets at night, yet some of us are even more afraid to return to our own homes. At least 1 in 4 are victims of domestic violence. And every week, two women in the UK are killed by a current or former partner. So, are we equals?

Until the answer is yes, we never stop Must Asking. "

TRAVEL

transcribe my FIRST COLUMN IN INDIVIDUAL JOURNAL EntreMundos , DE XELA. THANK VALERIA Ayers for having taken into account. THE THEME OF THE ISSUE FOR YOU WROTE THIS COLUMN WAS "TRAVEL".

"I grew up in that middle-class world in which the camera could not be too followed - almost nothing followed, in fact - the taste of travel. Except for the limited few occasions when a child and adolescents that strange monster called family could afford the lujito me to give me the "forced" back to the Cinderella's castle in California and Florida, in fact we went from almost no eventualísimo up border travel to Mexico, or down, El Salvador, and in itself it was also very little. Grow further in the eighties, with a savage civil war was gradually convincing the average capital that silence and stillness were the best protection, not my parents urged me not to see the interior or even the interest in knowing , getting used to stories of danger and laziness as a justification to stay cooped up at home every weekend for ever and ever (amen).

Having somehow, in the college years, awakened to a preliminary stage of awareness of reality (preliminary because I'm still discovering it), began the literal need to travel, both within and outside of Guatemala, although this need almost always was - and still see, in general - frustrated by these barriers in the days of self-flagellation that I like to call third world, but surely are globalized tragedies affecting anyone in any country, not just to us poor: lack of guns and lack of time, generally, are displayed alternately: when ratatouille no time and when there is no track time. In my thirty-three years, and officially settled comfortably in a middle class a little better off than my old - and that only because I am unmarried and gourds - I still do not know Europe, but hopefully soon as I can take the tour that begins in Paris and Rome, Andalucía and Costa del Sol .

All this, of course, is not for the poor whining sound that in itself and many people think I'm quite the opposite: to share some of the ways to travel without traveling I've been discovering. Travel without travel is paramount need when you live in a country that, more that spring is eternal sadness, a beautiful land that people prefer to give her false hope songs instead of real hope, because it is undeniable that many Guatemalans die every day without being able to realize that there is a world outside their field of view. If there are literally millions who will never go and see the sea, are still more who never feel free to question their environment or their potential. And not only of those, enough travel, because consciousness is less confined confinement and fear becomes bearable and sometimes even becomes value. That journey begins, inevitably, with the reading. We can not get rid of buildings that the world imposes on us unread and read everything: history, philosophy and, what the hell up, entertainment and self-help. And movies. I swear I see good movies, like reading a good book, is to give a visa to the spirit to travel freely to Never Land that is called being yourself. And there are straws.

But speaking of straw, what I want now is to find a way to twist reality and convince my mind that the overflowing estarme pants, waist and shaker type, is a life journey that is also true worth doing. "
