"The year 2010 was the year of Don Quixote, media proclaim the month of December, in the familiar style of leaving for the last month of the year the news that despite being uplifting, and bring hope and light to work of human beings on our planet, do not contain information on economic issues or political, and therefore are presumed not to stir the sensitivity of public opinion.

For us Latin Americans, the year ends, was also the year of the celebration of the bicentennial of our independence, the European kingdoms ... and in the Nations of Our America, we celebrate with identity, culture and freedom, reflecting on our diverse cultural heritage and plural. The period in which Cervantes wrote Don Quixote, about the year 1600 was a time when America was called "Colonial", and provided nickname is preserving the memory of centuries of pillage, extermination, empowerment, sharing and land use and wealth of the original inhabitants of these lands. Colonial America was also a territory and a name of a social change, because the births in our continent, children of mixtures of races and cultures, began to feel an identity distinct from the paternity of the European continent. However, all the centuries that have elapsed since our independence until today, have brought a continuous cultural debate amp; on our similarities and differences in the way of life of Europeans

With imagination and poetry of one of the first chroniclers of our capital city "Caracas", Don Jose de Oviedo y Baños, we also have a Quixote in Venezuela. Iragorry
Mario Briceño (Venezuela, 1897-1958) is a major figure in contemporary thought of country. Historian and teacher introduced her vision in the approach that was about the past and the present, emphasizing the need to resize for it was the opposite of historical neglect, denial and false. It was in the forties and fifties conflict, of moral leadership to the younger generations of his country, which continues to recognize its ethical teaching. At the same time, his prose castiza awarded a place in the history of contemporary Latin American essay, whose interest goes beyond the purely Venezuelan continental acquiring entity.
